12th Annual Our Lady of Grace Parish Festival-Carnival

Help Wanted

Each year, Our Lady of Grace Parish hosts an Annual Parish Festival and Carnival. We plan and organize a safe, family friendly event full of food, fun and fellowship ith our parishioners andthe entire Maricpa community and beyond.

This festival is the largest fund-raiser of Our Lady of Grace Church with the proceeds designated to our Building Fund, reducing our mortgage and planning future development of The Crossing.

As parishioners of Our Lady of Grace, we are committed to sharing our God-given talents for the good our parish.  We are seeking volunteers to join our Festival Core Committee and help plan our Annual Parish Festival.

Below are two opportunities that we are looking to fill immediately.  Throughout the year, we will anticipate additional opportunities for our parishioners to participate and share their stewardship gifts of time and talent.

  • Entertainment Coordinator:
  • •   Chair the Entertainment Sub-Committee
  • •   Ability to lead and organize and foster the Entertainment Sub-Committee
  • •   Facilitate and schedule sub-committee meetings as needed
  • •   Securing family-friendly, quality entertainment appealing to various age groups and cultures
  • •   May include but not limited to:
  • •   Gymnastic & martial arts demonstrations, dance & cheer group performances, bands,
  • singers and musicians
  • •   On-stage contests
  • •   DJ's & emcees, making public announcements in English and Spanish
  • •   Securing and operating appropriate sound equipment
  • •   Attendance at Festival Core Team Meetings once or twice a month, more frequently as the
  • date approaches
  • •   Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • •   Desire to serve the parish community
  • •   Diocese of Tucson Volunteer Compliance Clearance
  • •   Public Speaking experience (preferred)
  • •   Public Entertainment experienced preferred)
  • Cash Raffle Coordinator:
  • •   Chair the Cash Raffle Sub-Committee Sub-Committee
  • •   Ability to lead and organize and foster the Cash Raffle Sub-Committee
  • •   Facilitate and schedule sub-committee meetings as needed
  • •   Develop and recommend improvements to the Cash Raffle
  • •   May include selling contests, methods of distribution, and timeline
  • •   Recruitment of volunteers
  • •   Volunteers to help organize, distribute, sell and track tickets prior to the festival
  • •   Both English and Spanish speaking
  • •   Sell and distribute tickets after weekend Masses and Parish Events
  • •   Implementing approved processes for selling tickets including money handling procedures
  • •   Attendance at Festival Core Team Meetings once or twice a month, more frequently as the
  • date approaches
  • •   Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • •   Desire to serve the parish community
  • •   Diocese of Tucson Volunteer Compliance Clearance

Grand Raffle

Festival Raffle.  Each ticket is $5.00.  First Prize - $2,500, Second Prize - $1,000, Third Prize - $500, Fourth Prize - $300, Fifth Prize - $200, Sixth Prize - $100.  The drawing will take place at our Festival on Sunday, February 11, 2018. All proceeds will go towards our Building Fund. Thank you for your support!

Raffle Ticket Sales Family Contest!

The family who sells the most raffle tickets will win a Family Festival Pack which includes four (4) all day Carnival Ride tickets and $25.00 worth of Festival Tickets to be used for food, drinks and games.

    Contest Rules:
  • If you wish to participate in this contest, please complete the 'FAMILY CONTEST COUPON' available in the office.
  • Sign out books of ten (10) raffle tickets after weekend Masses or in the parish office during the week.
  • Print your first and last name on the back of all your ticket stubs (this will be used in tracking your sales, if we cannot read your name we cannot track your sales).
  • Return ticket stubs and monies to representatives after weekend Masses or in the parish office during the week.
  • Contest ends January 25, 2018. All tickets and monies need to be submitted on or before January 25, 2018.
  • The winner will be announced at all the Masses of the weekend of January 27-28, 2018.

Carnival Ride Tickets !

Pre-Sale Carnival Ride Tickets are $20.00 and each pass is good for one day. At 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9th the price goes up to $30.00. On Saturday and Sunday, February 10 and 11, the all-day price is $30.00. Buy your Carnival Ride Tickets NOW and SAVE money. Carnival Ride Tickets are available for purchase at the parish office and after all weekend Masses.

Vendors

Our Lady of Grace will be opening our 11th Annual Parish Festival to non-food vendors / organizations/individuals to rent space. The cost is $175.00 for the three day festival. We will provide access to electricity/generator. Vendors will need to provide their own pop up tent, tables, extension cords, lights, and chairs. Pop up tents will need to be set up on site by Wednesday, February 7th. The spaces will be in a high traffic/main walkway area (different from last year).

Looking for new and gently used toys for prizes at our Annual Parish Festival

While you are cleaning out the closets and toy boxes to make room for the Christmas presents, please consider donating your gently used toys for our festival to be used as prizes for the games in our “KidTown”.
