Knights of Columbus Install Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

Knights of Columbus Council #13895 Members would like to thank all parishioners who purchased tickets for the 2016 Arizona State Raffle, which enabled us to give almost $2000.00 to our church. We approached Father Velásquez with a request that the Council use those funds to purchase two Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s), and he whole-"heart"-edly agreed. We would like to thank Father for his cooperation in this matter. The two AED’s have been purchased, received, and have been placed in both the church and parish office. Thank you all for your support with this project!

Walk to Emmaus

  • How the Church’s social teaching helps us love one another as Christ loves us
  • How we are called to imitate Jesus in serving the people right around us, in our families, workplaces, churches, and local communities
  • How serving and caring for others, especially the poor, is a key characteristic of being a disciple of Christ
  • How some of the greatest poverty in the world is not material poverty, but a poverty of love or what Pope Francis calls a “poverty of relationships”
  • The ways that Catholic social teaching affects our lives today and helps us to apply the Gospel to the many social issues we face
  • The call to responsibility to care for and encounter the poor and the most vulnerable around us

Walk to Emmaus is open to all who want to know more about our Catholic faith, especially converts and cradle Catholics who desire to increase their faith and understanding of the Catholic Church and its teachings.

Each session will use the beautiful Symbolon videos followed by discussions, questions and answers.  We will also incorporate material from other Formed resources, such as Catholicism, Eucharist, Lectio, Peter and more.

If you could sum up Symbolon in one sentence, a good description might be:  "Discover the big picture of the Catholic faith."
