The Spring 40 Days for Life Campaign will run during Lent from February 18, through March 29, 2015. Our Lady of Grace Parish will again be participating, praying in front of the Planned Parenthood, 610 N. Alma School Road, in Chandler. We are again trying to cover the twelve - 1-hour slots on the five Tuesdays of the campaign. 40 Days for Life prayer vigil campaigns have resulted in forty-four abortion clinic closings, nearly 10,000 lives saved (that we know of), and the post abortive healing of countless women and men that is so desperately needed.
This Lent, won't you please SACRIFICE one hour to sign up and pray so that others may LIVE? For more information, please send email request to email@example.com. Or visit http://40daysforlife.com for more information and to sign up online.
The refusal to take sides on great moral issues is itself a decision. It is a silent acquiescence to evil. The Tragedy of our time is that those who still believe in honesty lack fire and conviction, while those who believe in dishonesty are full of passionate conviction. ~ Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
Don’t Waste Your Lent: 7 Ways to Have a Good Lent by Sam Guzman
Lent is a season of penance and ascetical warfare. The enemy is concupiscence, the world, and the devil. The goal is pure hearts so that we can joyfully celebrate the resurrection of our Lord at Easter, the greatest feast of the liturgical year. In a way, Lent should be a microcosm of our entire struggle on earth, continue reading . . .

Fast and Abstinence
The Lenten regulations regarding fasting are as follows: All people from age 18 to age 59 are required to fast. This means one full meal for the day (and if necessary, two smaller meals maybe taken that do not equal the full meal). Fasting is required on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
Abstaining refers to not eating meat or chicken for the day. This applies to everyone from the age of 14 and up. We are called to abstain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday and all the Fridays during Lent.
Stations of the Cross
The practice of walking the Way of the Cross with Jesus dates back to the times when people could no longer make pilgrimages to the Holy Land and retrace the actual steps or "stations" which led the Lord to Calvary and the Cross. St. Francis of Assisi is credited with popularizing this devotion in its present form with fourteen stations. The faithful mediate on the suffering and passion of the Lord, seeking to share in a small but meaningful way in the sufferings of the Lord.
We will be praying the Stations of the Cross in the parish every Friday during Lent at 5:45 p.m. beginning Friday, February 20th. On Good Friday the Stations will be prayed at 12:00 noon. The Youth Group will pray the "Living Stations Outdoors" at 5:00 p.m.

PRAYER FOR THE END TO ABORTION
Friday, December 5, 2014 - 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Location: On Hwy 347 in front of Basha's, next to Circle K
Our purpose is to bring awareness to the reality of Abortion. It’s crucial that we pray and stand against the powers of darkness over our land that have given us the present “culture of death.” Simply come and stand in peaceful solidarity at the corner for an hour on Fridays. Bring your sign if you have one, to witness to and help educate a public that is sorely lacking the Truth that abortion is a great evil that defames the name and holiness of God. It is not an easy thing to witness to the truth of abortion. The media continues to treat those who oppose abortions as extremists and mindless zealots. However, considering the scope of the evil that plagues our countries, it is vital that pro-lifers speak up, because if they don’t speak up, no one else will.
Please contact Ann Bunn at 717-495-0222 for more information. Thank you in advance for your participation.
What is it that God is asking you to do with your life?
Are you discerning your "call" in life, your vocation?
Have you ever thought of being a priest?
Diocese of Tucson Vocations Prayer
Loving and generous God, we need more vocations to the priesthood. Send us faith-filled servants to minister as dedicated and loving priests in the Diocese of Tucson.
Inspire us with your Holy Spirit so that we will encourage and foster a culture of vocations in which many will hear your call to serve your people.
Bless our Diocese with men and women who will work together with your priests as deacons, religious, and lay ministers to bring to life the Gospel and to realize the Church’s mission in our Diocese. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
