Walk to Emmaus

Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.

Session Five: Matrimony and Holy Orders - The Sacraments of Service & Communion

  • Some of the key foundations for building a strong marriage
  • Why marriage is a sacrament and what difference this makes for married couples
  • How Christ’s love for his Church is the model for marriage
  • The difference between divorce and annulments in the Catholic Church
  • And finally, the second Sacrament of Service—Holy Orders

Walk to Emmaus is open to all who want to know more about our Catholic faith, especially converts and cradle Catholics who desire to increase their faith and understanding of the Catholic Church and its teachings.

Each session will use the beautiful Symbolon videos followed by discussions, questions and answers.  We will also incorporate material from other Formed resources, such as Catholicism, Eucharist, Lectio, Peter and more.

If you could sum up Symbolon in one sentence, a good description might be:  "Discover the big picture of the Catholic faith."

What is Arco Iris?

If your teen came home one afternoon and had suddenly become far more respectful, helpful and responsible . . . if instead of the usual weekend activities, your teen spent each and every Friday evening in a spiritual gathering, you might wonder what had gotten into him.  For Catholic youth the answer is “Arcoiris.”  “Arcoiris” Youth Evangelizers has four goals: evangelize youth and young adults; evangelize families; promote religious vocations and expand the movement. The “Arcoiris” (Spanish word for “rainbow”) Catholic youth retreat is an intense, three-day retreat especially designed for young adults and teenagers of Catholic faith where deeply spiritual activities are integrated with important lessons in social issues, creating a combination of spiritual and civic formation.  It is an experience of faith and grace focusing on each participant’s encounter with himself, with Jesus and with others as the beginning of a conversion to a new life with Jesus.

Healing Prayer Ministry

Wednesday:  May 4, 2016 at 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday night May 4th at 8:00 p.m. we will be in the church praying for anyone who would like to come. You may have a family member that needs prayer. You may need a job, a physical healing or you may need prayer to get free from addiction. God honors and answers prayer. In the last two months, we have witnessed many healings. We are there to simply ask and have faith to believe. Matthew 10:8 says to go out and heal the sick.  Thank you, Priscilla Santi, Gregory McGrath, Yvonne and Andy Murray.

Vocations Corner

What is it that God is asking you to do with your life?

Are you discerning your "call" in life, your vocation?

Have you ever thought of being a priest?

Diocese of Tucson Vocations Prayer

Loving and generous God, we need more vocations to the priesthood. Send us faith-filled servants to minister as dedicated and loving priests in the Diocese of Tucson.

Inspire us with your Holy Spirit so that we will encourage and foster a culture of vocations in which many will hear your call to serve your people.

Bless our Diocese with men and women who will work together with your priests as deacons, religious, and lay ministers to bring to life the Gospel and to realize the Church’s mission in our Diocese. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
