Do You Know Someone Who Wants to be Catholic?

Inquirer Meetings: Aug. 24, and Sep. 7

Do you know someone in your family, at your work place or school who might be thinking about becoming Catholic? Have you talked to someone recently or in the past who showed an interest in the Catholic faith? Do you know someone who seems to be missing something in their lives? Are you being called by God to lead them to know the Lord Jesus Christ!

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is the process by which men and women who think and feel they hear a call from God, are lead to conversion and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. The teachings of the Gospel are studied and pondered, the requirements of the Christian life are explained and a call to faith is fostered. It is above all an invitation by God to the person to become His son or daughter . . . to be born again through baptism and/or fully initiated through Confirmation and Holy Communion.

After all of the Masses on Sunday, August 24th and September 7th we are hosting an "inquiry" session for those who might be thinking about the Catholic faith. These sessions have a twofold purpose: 1)to explain the R.C.I.A. process (meeting times, classes, commitment), and 2) to answer any questions from those seeking more information. This meeting is mainly informational and no formal commitment on the part of the person is required or expected. Feel free to come and see!

Abortion sign

PRAYER FOR THE END TO ABORTION

Every Friday - 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Location: On Hwy 347 in front of Basha's, next to Circle K

Please consider making a commitment to join a group praying on the third Friday afternoon beginning August 15, 2014 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on the west side of John Wayne Parkway (Hwy. 347).

Our purpose is to bring awareness to the reality of Abortion. It’s crucial that we pray and stand against the powers of darkness over our land that have given us the present “culture of death.” Simply come and stand in peaceful solidarity at the corner for an hour on Fridays. Bring your sign if you have one, to witness to and help educate a public that is sorely lacking the Truth that abortion is a great evil that defames the name and holiness of God. It is not an easy thing to witness to the truth of abortion. The media continues to treat those who oppose abortions as extremists and mindless zealots. However, considering the scope of the evil that plagues our countries, it is vital that pro-lifers speak up, because if they don’t speak up, no one else will.

Please contact Ann Bunn at 717-495-0222 for more information. Thank you in advance for your participation.

Vocations Corner

What is it that God is asking you to do with your life?

Are you discerning your "call" in life, your vocation?

Have you ever thought of being a priest?

Diocese of Tucson Vocations Prayer

Loving and generous God, we need more vocations to the priesthood. Send us faith-filled servants to minister as dedicated and loving priests in the Diocese of Tucson.

Inspire us with your Holy Spirit so that we will encourage and foster a culture of vocations in which many will hear your call to serve your people.

Bless our Diocese with men and women who will work together with your priests as deacons, religious, and lay ministers to bring to life the Gospel and to realize the Church’s mission in our Diocese. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
